Quiet Day
It was very quiet in the office today and I managed to send off for the proceeds of the Communist's insurance policy, for my mother.

Watching Films and Gardening

Today I ate:

Verdict: again, too high in fat - - I seem to be seeking comfort food as I've been feeling a bit below par.

Catching Up
On Thursday I went to London with Silverback for him to get his visa.
And I ate:

chips and a tiny bit of Kentucky Fried Chicken
Burger King cheeseburger and chips
a Kit Kat (four fingers!)
Verdict - - oh well, not good but only one day - -
On Friday I ate:

M and S posh burger, with fried onions, new potatoes and frozen peas
lemon meringue pie
Verdict: Ah well, we were celebrating Silverback's visa in lemon meringue pie!
Today I was at home and I ate:

rhubarb and evaporated milk with a bit of muesli

Verdict: a bit high in fat but plenty of fruit and vegetables. Pretty good really!

Strange Times

My birthday today and I worked with some medical students in the morning and then went out for a lovely meal in the evening.

Back from Tenby
After a week of eating really rather too much food in Tenby, I'm back and trying to lose some weight before we go to Italy!
But I'm not on a diet really - just trying to go back to how I was before I was put on Gliclazide, which made me gain seven pounds in a few weeks.
Today I ate:
muesli (no sugar)
ham and tomato sandwich with salad cream
stick of celery
stewed blackcurrants, no sugar, with evaporated milk
fresh peas from pods
apple
Chicken Kiev, boiled potatoes, peas
half a melon
orange
nectarine
Verdict: Not bad at all - certainly plenty of fruit!

No More Gliclazide!
I have missed a few days' writing here, in which I went to the doctor and was told that my blood result was good and I could come off the gliclazide, which makes me eat all the time - I've put on 6lbs in a few weeks and got rather dispirited.
But now I can work on losing it again!
Today I ate:

two chicken burgers with half a tin of low-sugar baked beans
a bowl of strawberries with a bit of ice cream
three digestive biscuits
Verdict: Could be better, but not too bad.
